Reverse mortgages for senior citizens: A reverse mortgage is a special type of home loan that lets you convert a portion of the equity in your home into cash. The equity that you built up over years of making mortgage payments can be paid to you. However, unlike a traditional home equity loan or second mortgage, borrowers do not have to repay the reverse mortgage until the borrowers no longer use the home as their principal residence or fail to meet the obligations of the mortgage. What is a Charter School?

Charter Schools are self-managed public schools that are approved by local school districts. Cyber charter schools are approved by the PA Department of Education. Both are created and controlled by parents, teachers, community leaders, and colleges or universities. Charter schools operate free from many educational mandates, except for those concerning nondiscrimination, health and safety and accountability. Charter Schools offer alternatives in education using strategies that may save money and improve student performance.
What is the difference between a "regular" sometimes referred to as a brick and mortar charter school and a cyber charter school? A brick and mortar charter school is physically located within the boundaries of a school district. The local school district's board of directors grants the Charter to the charter school's board of trustees to operate a public charter school. The Charter is an agreement or contract between the school district and an incorporated entity, known as a charter school.

A charter school applicant may apply to a single chartering district or, under the regional charter school provisions of the law, to multiple school districts. A charter school is required to provide a minimum of one hundred eighty (180) days of instruction or nine hundred (900) hours per school year of instruction at the elementary level or nine hundred ninety hours (990) per school year of instruction at the secondary level.

About Cyber Charter Schools...
The Pennsylvania Department of Education is responsible for the oversight of cyber charter schools which including approval of the initial charter and decisions whether to renew, non-renew or revoke the charter. The cyber charter school provides instruction through the Internet or other electronic/digital means.

A Cyber Charter School is also required to provide a minimum of one hundred eighty (180) days of instruction or nine hundred (900) hours per school year of instruction at the elementary level or nine hundred ninety hours (990) per school year of instruction at the secondary level.
